Addressed technical currency by upgrading middleware and operating system as part of the migrations. Orchestrated migrations in tandem with ongoing project thereby avoiding impact to critical business initiatives. Improved resiliency of applications in all environments by deploying components across multiple AWS Availability Zones.• Key leader of $20M+ integration effort for Sun Life's acquisition of Assurant Employee Benefits (AEB). Migrated 500+ application components from AEB's data center to Sun Life over 18 months, beating a 36 month target. Introduced Ansible automation for server builds resulting in a 81% efficiency gain over manual installs. • Core member of the U.S. COVID-19 Response & Leadership Team. Successfully transitioned 3400 Sun Life U.S. employees across 8+ geographic locations to work from home overnight with no business disruption. Team awarded the "2020 CEO's Award of Excellence".

• Managed Sun Life’s ColdFusion and Flex development teams• Interviewed, hired and cultivated front-end developers• Oversaw the technical architecture of multiple development initiatives for Sun Life’s internal and external web sites, providing support for direct reports in their respective roles as tech-leads.• Directed several infrastructure refresh projects, involving upgrades to all application server components including ColdFusion, Apache and Flex, and migration of applications to newer hardware platforms• Helped create and support a standard security model using CA SiteMinder for all applications• Oversaw all aspects of Adobe middleware adoption including evaluation, recommendation to senior management, installation and configuration, and training of staff by an external Adobe partner.• Worked with Sun Life’s security penetration team to establish secure coding guidelines for developers• Supported the division’s multi-site staffing strategy, facilitating cross-training opportunities between local developers and their colleagues in Ireland and India• Contributed to hands-on applicaton development for projects as needed
