The Transaction Banking team is a specialist team supporting client’s payables and receivables management. I have the privilege of heading up the strong team of 15 who are located in 6 geographies across New Zealand. With the changing pace across the payment industry and the economy our key purpose is to deliver insights to our clients and support their continued growth

I led a nationwide team of 12 Transaction Banking Managers, this included Trade sales, located in 10 different geographies across New Zealand.

This was a time of change as involved bringing together teams across 2 different Banks. I had responsibility for a national team of 9 Sales Managers, focussing on day to day transaction management.

My first placement was in Gisborne where I learnt the ropes from encoding cheques, being a teller and an overall understanding of day to day clients banking needs. I transferred to Auckland in 1982 where I worked in the International Department processing documentary trade needs for clients operating outside of New Zealand. In 1984 I was transferred to Wellington to work in the Head Office International Division, this covered settling foreign exchange deals, working in the dealing room and being one of four set up to sell the first ever electronic banking system. This is where I became interested in transaction banking and sales with the passion still burning to this day. The changes have been immense.
