24 year of experience in IT of which 17 years in the Service Provider and Telecom industry. Started my IT career as a System Administrator at NATO in 1997. In the years after that I have worked as a System Administrator at different SME's and LE's. In 2002 I was asked to start working at a new Service Provider with a focus on the SMB market in the Netherlands. I was the first employee and as an engineer I managed the entire technical infrastructure. We became a RIPE member, build a MPLS network, helped customers move from ISDN to DSL, move from on premise hardware to co-located hosting and introduced security services and online storage.With the fast growth of the company, my role and responsibility grew. I became a consultant, an architect and finally an innovation manager. In that role we introduced VoIP (SIP) services to the SMB market in the Netherlands. In a couple of years, we were the market leader in VoIP, for the business market, in the Netherlands. I designed and implemented mobile integration (FMC). I helped on introducing services for our ARC (Alarm Response Centre). I investigated public cloud and wrote a vision on how a service provider can use the cloud and how the customer can move from on-premise or hosted to public cloud.Beside the job as an innovation manager Is also worked on security audits (VoIP) for other telecom companies and as a technical expert, advised the board of the Dutch telecom incumbent in several due diligence processes (M&A).I was a team member of the team that transferred a company that was focused on the Dutch market to an international company. The company crowed to over 150 employees, 1600 resellers and a revenue of 300M. I like to innovate, work in small teams and make quick discussions. With the growth of the company this became harder.In 2019 I decided it was time for change and moved to another company. Here I am responsible for all IT and technical infrastructure. We are one the leading company in Number portability and Number Management solutions. My goal is to stay ahead of competition and introduce new innovative products for the telecom market. Help customers move from on-premise to native cloud solutions and switch from software to services.
