As a Founder and Managing Partner of Aldine Capital Partners, LLC, I am most proud of our team's collaborative discipline in successfully raising and investing three successive SBIC funds. We deployed over $500M in 70-plus portfolio companies generating top-quartile returns for a wide range of limited partners. In addition to investing, structuring, and managing new deals, my responsibilities included many internal operational items necessary to run a private equity fund. Other duties included managing the complicated SBA process, tax reporting, internal controls, and the accounting function between our internal CFO and outside accountants. Earlier in my career, at JP Morgan Chase (employment originated at Bank One), I advanced from Associate to Director for One Mezzanine Capital, where I was introduced to lower-middle market lending. The experience gave me the confidence and experience to start an SBIC fund with my former colleagues. I enjoy analyzing and evaluating new investment opportunities, fostering trust among various stakeholders, and identifying and mitigating risks. Curious, disciplined, and organized, I ask the right questions, conduct detailed research, and seek resources to facilitate investment deals. I am eager to see where my next chapter leads following a long tenure as Founder and Managing Partner at Aldine Capital Partners; my 25 years of experience in middle-market lending, investing, and private equity will provide a strong foundation for whatever comes next.I live in Wilmette, IL, with my wife, three children, and two dogs, and I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing paddle tennie, traveling, and watching my kids compete in various athletics.
