Strong professional with a B.Tech focused in Structural Engineering.Bert is a Senior Design Engineer with experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood frame and masonry. His experience, design solutions and leadership to junior and intermediate staff have contributed to the growth of IQ Engineering.Bert obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Structural Engineering from Technikon Pretoria in 1997. Starting his career in Engineering in 1990, Bert worked for Structural Consulting Engineering firms in South Africa and Canada where he was involved in the structural design, drafting and inspection of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. In 2002, Bert joined IQ Engineering Ltd. As project leader he has successfully managed the design, coordination and construction of many multi-family, commercial and industrial building projects in BC. Multi-family buildings include up to 6 storey wood frame and 12 storey steel with concrete core structures. His professional and technical memberships include the Association of Applied Science Technologists of BC (ASTTBC) and the Structural Engineers Association of BC (SEABC). Bert is an avid road and MTB cyclist and a part time master swim coach. Volunteers annually with RunforWater as a team leader.
