I started NCIS (North Claiborne Inspection Service) in 2012 to fill the need for professional residential building inspection in the Tri-state area of TN-KY-VA. I draw on my background in Mechanical Engineering and Building Science to provide in-depth and thorough inspections using the most current technology and methods to provide my clients a thorough and user-friendly report as well as customer support through closing on their next home purchase.In 2018-2019 we moved to Knoxville and I started Knoxville Engineered Home Inspections and sold NCIS to my employee, Joe West. KEHI serves the greater Knoxville area with an emphasis on Farragut and Concord, where I live. Before starting home inspections (and since) I did some flips, renovations, and home repair work. Before getting involved in residential real estate I worked as an automotive engineer designing and testing brakes for passenger cars, and also spent 7 years at True Temper Sports in charge of the cycling products. Carbon composite parts I designed were on the winning bikes of the Tour de France two consecutive years 2007 and 2008.I enjoy all things related to home construction and maintenance, including carpentry projects/crafts, following in my father's footsteps.
