About Bert Schelfhout

My core activities involve entrepreneurship, consultancy, politics & real estate investing. I'm deputy-mayor of the city of Deerlijk. I work partially as an advisor in The Flemish Parliament. I started my own company Wijnsafari.be and i help organisations as a consultant. I have a strong interest in technological developments such as AI, IOT and Blockchain.I studied Political Sciences at Ghent University, followed by teacher seminars. I also studied an extra year Economics.In my student years i was involved in a youth movement (Chiro) & some student movements.Member of several associations as LVSV (Liberal Students), principal leader of Chiro (youth movement), Praeses of Symposium and president of a local political organisation Open VLD Deerlijk.I also engaged as board member in Jong Vld, a liberal youth organisation.Whereas I studied I worked as a salesman in a financial institution for almost 2 year. Every year I organise a fashion event (D-LUXE) in Deerlijk.
