Managed the design of Road & Track magazine, a national monthly publication serving more than 750.000 readers, plus other special publications and advertorialsDUTIES■ Design and create all parts of Road & Track magazine■ Hire and direct photographers and illustrators for maximum impact.■ Direct photo shoots on location for optimum creative results■ Supervise editorial workflow and shipping of all content■ Coordinate and maintain a smooth editorial workflow via Adobe InDesign and InCopy, in combination with the Woodwing Enterprise system and Content Station■ Maintain R&T's high visual standards using prepress■ Repurpose content for interactive elements in digital replica editions, our photo store and an iPad application called Road & Track Best PhotosACHIEVEMENTS■ Created iPad App titled Road & Track Best Photos, containing 120+ pages featuring 200+ photos, video, and photographer’s bios. Available at the Apple App Store.■ Collaborated on development of a prototype web-based editorial planning application for the 20 Hearst magazines providing a tool to plan long term budget allocation, creative assignments, production of assets and creation of editorial content.■ Initiated a 3-part program to showcase the best photography in motor sports called Road & Track Focal Point. Monthly, I chose 25 images from 200+ photos from the previous month's events. A jury would select the “Top 10” including one winning image, featured on a 2-page spread in the front magazine with a cash prize for the photographer. The 2nd part, featured the monthly “Top 10” gallery on roadandtrack.com. The 3rd part offered all “Top 10” images available for purchase in the Road & Track Photo Store, providing revenue for Road & Track.
