CurrentMetaSenze is a non-invasive (through the skin) nano sensor for measuring the metabolic state, condition, disturbing or imbalance of human or animal bodies by detecting skin diffusing biomarkers in gas- or vapour state. The primary biomarker is acetone. Acetone is produced when body cells are insufficient fed with glucose (by different causes) and the cells switchover to ketones or fat burning. Acetone diffuses easily and quick through the body and the skin.The sensor is based on an Optical Interferometric Micro Ring Resonator chip. Although MetaSenze is primary developed for continuous non-invasive measuring of diabetes patients, it is not a blood glucose sensor but more: Blood glucose level is a little outdating slow reacting indicator for the metabolic state or disorders of human beings or animals. Therefore it is for instance difficult or nearly impossible to use blood glucose levels for closed loop or even manual control of insulin pumps.MetaSenze or producing and measuring acetone forms a quick reacting indicator of the stateor disorder of body cell nutrition. MetaSenze is also usable for athletes, people with eatingdisorders or animals with ketosis.At diabetes type 1 patients it indicates when there is insufficient insulin infused. At diabetestype 2 patients it indicates insufficient glucose nutrition of the body cells notwithstandingnormal blood glucose level. Athletes can non-invasive and comfortable control the important transition from glucose burning to fat burning during training or competition.At patients with eating disorders MetaSenze can measure and record the dailyglucose/ketones profiles for diagnose or instruction purposes.At dairy cows MetaSenze can detect and predict ketones with it wasteful expenses.The sensor can be placed on or near to the skin and measures a few millimetres square, the energy consumption is very low.
