About Bertan Selim

I am an experienced manager in the arts, specialised in international grant making and mentorship programmes focused in the Global South. I have vast experience in fundraising, relationship management, business development and organisational sustainability. I am analytical, structured and a value-driven connector. Positive change is central to the work I do. I have extensive experience with documentary photography and visual storytelling, and I know this industry well. I have high standards, which are driven by vision and focus. Without vision and focus, hard work is often less useful and engaging. As a manager I lead by emotional intelligence and sensitivity. I strive to motivate the people around me; development and growing together are key. As a fundraiser, I look for top-notch partnerships from which all sides can grow and learn. Innovation is central to creating timelines in the work we invest out time in.My ideal work environment consists of a strong creative surrounding, intellectually stimulating and fast moving tempo, requiring creative solutions for difficult strategic, content and organisational problems.
