About Bert Ballard, Ph.D.

Care, community, and connection motivate me. I'm a former tenured professor in communication who is seeking to give back to the community in other ways through the training of dogs for obedience and peace of mind; therapy work so we can serve others in the community; service dogs to assist those with disabilities, both visible and invisible; and personal protection, for a stronger sense of security.I remain an educator, but now I educate clients and the community about dog behavior, dog training, interacting with dogs, dog socialization, as well as rights and responsibilities for service dog access for handlers and for the business community. My broader aim is to apply my learning, teaching, and research on communication, communication ethics, and interpersonal communication from my previous career and experience and channel those into CARING for others, developing COMMUNITY, and CONNECTING people with each other and their four-legged friends, in the hopes of finding their own place in the world!
