I am a Managing Partner at Tax Design Services, S.C. (TDS). At TDS we provide consulting services related to International Taxation, FATCA and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).Besides carrying out the administrative work at TDS, I also lead all the FATCA and CRS compliance projects. My main duties are to provide compliance guidelines to our clients and coordinate the required activities to achieve FATCA and CRS compliance.I also work with entities to whom tax has been withheld in the U.S. because of FATCA. For these projects we work with a partner consulting firm in the U.S. to carry out the necessary activities to recover the withheld tax. This includes coordinating meetings with local financial custodians and conference calls with U.S. financial custodians.To this day, I am proud to have worked with entities from both, the public and private sectors, that are established in Mexico and abroad (e.g. Luxembourg, The Cayman Island, The British Virgin Islands, Canada, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras , Panama and Peru).

While working at EY, I provided Mexican legal tax advice to multinational corporate clients, participated in reorganizing the legal corporate structures for clients, and leaded consulting projects to help Mexican financial institutions comply with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). I also provided FATCA training to clients and other EY colleagues.The achievement of which I am most proud of during the time I worked at EY is that I became the most knowledgeable FATCA consultant in EY Mexico. While at EY Mexico, I became the reference consultant for all FATCA legal matters. Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to lead projects for the implementation of FATCA in international groups and to speak about the matter in national and international events.
