Prior to that at BMW North America, Holland authored the marketing budget, coordinated and edited the preparation of board meetings, led the US Hydrogen 7-Series marketing, led the US input for the "car of the future" project (i3 and i7 electric cars), led the US input for the Diesel and Hybrid projects, as well as overall product strategy for current and future car products. He initiated and led the TED.com, TEDtalks, and Le Web partnerships, and the environmental product planning and lobbying efforts.In various roles at both BMW Headquarters in Munich and at BMW North America, Holland proposed and secured approval for the original X5, X3, 6-cyl. M3, and Z3 projects and their variants, proposed and led the market launch team for the X5 (eBay), and the Z3 (James Bond "Goldeneye"), and authored the marketing strategy for the MINI.
