Structural Engineer Intern
During my tenure as a Structural Engineer at Zutari from November 27 to February 9, I had the privilege of working alongside registered engineers on a variety of projects. This experience provided me with a comprehensive understanding of structural design, and I gained proficiency in utilizing software tools such as Prokon, RAPT and Bluebeam for design tasks. The scope of projects I contributed to was diverse, including working on the 38th floor of a building in Sydney. One of the highlights of my role was receiving numerous projects from mentors, which involved tackling structural design challenges in different programs, performing hand calculations, and developing detailed reinforcement designs. The culmination of each project was a thorough report, subject to mentor review and constructive critique, fostering continuous improvement. Engaging in frequent meetings enhanced my communication skills and professionalism. Despite encountering challenges and making mistakes along the way, my seven weeks at Zutari proved invaluable in terms of knowledge gained and professional growth.
