With over 30 years of experience as an attorney, I specialise in Divorce and Family Law, helping clients navigate the complex and often emotional legal issues involved in separation, care and contact (custody), and domestic violence. I currently work as a Consultant in the Family Law Department of Maurice Phillips Wisenberg, a reputable law firm in Cape Town, South Africa.I am also the author of "Everyone's Guide to Divorce and Separation" (Random House), a comprehensive and practical book that provides essential information and advice on the legal aspects of divorce and separation in South Africa and The Unexpected Counsellor. In addition, I have a passion for technology and innovation, having co-pioneered the development of mobile technology that enabled the delivery of the world's first book to a mobile phone in 2005. I have also advised several South African book publishers on the Google Book settlement class action, and negotiated digital distribution contracts with Google and Amazon.com. Furthermore, I am a professional photographer for Gallo pictures, covering various international sports events. I am fluent in Afrikaans and English, two of the official languages of South Africa. In the late 90’s I was a trade union attorney acting for trade unions of some of SA’s largest trade union federations and one of the first commissioners of the CCMA. A member of Lawyers for Human Rights in the 90’s and conducted various workshops for CALS in the 90’s in Rural areas. I acted for major COSATU trade unions and SANCO and was also on the negotiating team who managed to reform South African Rugby into an era of diversity and professional rugby, negotiating player contracts and drafted the constitution of the South African Rugby Players Organisation (SAREO).
