    A relative short break in Holland from my tropical life.Learned a lot. Started as consultant and got promoted to associate director after 3 years. In that period it was a privately owned company with a wonderfull work-climate. Too bad it lost it's identity and culture.

    Small IT company in Aruba. There were only three of us, the boss, the secretary and myself. Doing everything, from management consultancy up to repairing old core-memory (anyone remember those??)We purchased the rights on some standard software packages from Data General and adapted those packages to the local Aruban market. And added a few more modules for that matter. At the moment that this text is written (2010), 25 years later, I still know quite a few companies that use this software today and are happy with it. So we must have done something good. Today, my own old software is one of my stiffest competitors.
