Being a local to the Napa Valley, I created Beryl Business Solutions, Inc., in response to my frustration with the current trend in financial services. I found that most financial services companies, today, are primarily concerned with their own returns rather than that of their clients. Very little concern is given to the client’s understanding of their financial picture or to addressing each aspect collectively in order to prevent loss of effectiveness due to a deteriorating factor in a sector that is not addressed.I have also found that, all too often, a company will seek to improve its financial picture by attacking a singular aspect - perhaps overall revenue without considering profits, or minimizing taxes without considering the long-term effects of specific decisions, or improper real estate holdings either in method, financing, or depreciation decisions. At the same time, they may be allowing waste, loss, or risk to threaten the rest of their financial picture. Alternatively, individuals running the small businesses will allow themselves to get intimidated by their lack of knowledge and not address the situation until it becomes a real problem.
