CurrentBeahive Affordable Housing Outreach, Inc will provide services to individuals at or just above the poverty level specifically those who are struggling with being able to obtain and sustain housing for various reasons. Safe, affordable housing is at a current deficit. Sky-high rents and a severe housing shortage are a challenge for would-be renters across the U.S. One person, spoke of having to suspend their housing search because he couldn’t afford to keep applying for paces. He and his wife have 3 children, including a young adult daughter. This means- that for each place they apply, all 3 adults must pay an application fee to cover a general background check and credit check. Those fees can run anywhere from $35 to $100 per person. These fees are not refundable and these days, dozens of people are applying for the same place.A key factor in not sustaining housing for many children and their families stems from the lack of knowledge of one or all of the five pillars of financial literacy: earning, saving, investing, protecting, spending, and borrowing. Many families are in hourly, low-wage jobs that will not allow them growth opportunities that would allow them to sustain their children and their family homes.
