I am the founder and investor of a number of businesses, and am CEO of Document Direct, the UK's leading digital dictation, typing and transcription business. I am also the owner of Legal RSS, co-owner of PROGRESS Wrestling, and of Camp New York, a ground-breaking cultural exchange programme in association with International Exchange of New York (IENA).I am a trustee of the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS), Associate Director of Tranmere Rovers Football Club and an Ambassador for the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool.I have a strong focus on building businesses with lively, motivated and enthusiastic teams, with an objective of delivering outstanding results with integrity, trust and enjoyment.Having founded Document Direct in 2005, they are now recognised as the leading UK based on-line typing and transcription service to the legal and other sectors. In 2017 we acquired Voicepath, who from their Dictaphone roots have been one of the pioneers of outsourced transcription. We are totally focussed on delivering excellence, efficiency and significant cost savings to our amazing client base across the legal, professional services, health and medical sectors.In 2024, we become BCorp certified - the first UK supplier to the legal sector to do so.From a financial background as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young in both Saudi Arabia and Liverpool, I have played a strong and enthusiastic role in supporting, investing and developing a wide range of businesses in many sectors.I was Deputy and then Chairman of the Everton Tigers - Liverpool's leading professional basketball team - and during that time the UK's most successful professional basketball team.I am actively involved with the Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants and am the founder and Editor of its magazine Chartered ONE and a Past President of the Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants.I watch many professional wrestling shows as we grow PROGRESS to be the leading global independent promotion; I watch Tranmere Rovers and occasionally Everton with equal joy and frustration. I cycled from London to Paris in September 2013; and Liverpool to Amsterdam in Sept 2014 - and completed the Tour de France Etape in 2016 and in 2023; and I plan to complete the VATTERUNDEN, Europe's biggest participant bike ride, in June 2024.I am an occasional travel writer and a member of the International Travel Writers' Alliance.
