And that is what the project is all about. It is designed, with experts in the field of gaming and Goethe Institut, to encourage people in Sub-Saharan Africa to use Games and Game Thinking as a tool to harness everyday opportunities and address the challenges playfully. We asked one question to our participants supplemented with guides and tools to answer them in their own 15 different ways: WHAT DOES THE FUTURE OF YOUR CITY LOOK LIKE?Because of this, Enter Africa is a creative African network made up of interdisciplinary teams including game developers, city planners, story tellers, artists, architects, and etc in 15 African mega cities. These teams created location-based experiences – playable on mobile phones – which address the past, present and future of their cities. These experiences anticipate the cities’ transformation processes and envision future scenarios. Out of these 15 visions, the teams also identified joint topics for Sub-Saharan Africa – and created one analogue African game with a focus on borderlessness and the promotion of African cultures. Enter Africa came alive in 2018 with the vision to create a gaming ecosystem that represents African culture and reimagines African futures. It is now on the process of becoming open to everyone interested to work with us. Show less -
