As an allied health professional, I am an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. I work under the supervision of the surgeon to facilitate the safe andeffective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. I possess expertise in the theory and application of sterileand aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, instrumentation and technologies to facilitate the surgeon's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

The AST Bylaws, Resolutions and Parliamentary Procedure Committee is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and recommending amendments to the AST Bylaws, including those proposed by members, and reviews and approves bylaws of constituent divisions to ensure conformity with AST Bylaws.

President of the New York Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists - leading an amazing team of Board Members in advocating for the members of NYAST and the profession of Surgical Technology through education, legislation, public awareness and community outreach projects.

Worked as part of a team to develop and analyze a national survey of the job duties of surgical technologists. Developed test questions for the national certifying exam for surgical technologists based on the information derived from the job analysis.
