National Council for Preservation Education internship, 1200 hoursDue to the current global pandemic, internship has been almost entirely remote Tasks• Participated with museum database clean-up for database migration to new system• Participated in the first stage of testing for the new database system• Updated collections movement in the database in timely manner• Participated in artwork rotation, tracking, and storage• Helped with the organization and decision process in selecting Native American artists to include in museum collections. Contacted some artists for payment methods• With supervision, accessioned several Native American artworks into database and created catalog entries for each• Enhanced artwork protection in on-site storage room• Lightly cleaned and organized Native American baskets in museum collection, completed multiple condition reports• Provided review and editing suggestions for newsletters, museum procedures, exhibition labels and audio descriptions• Was on two hiring panels, one for two staff curator positions (hired at the same time) and one for the next intern, contacted and organized intern interviews
