Beth Bennet Email and Phone Number
I am a highly skilled Parts Manager who likes to take good care of all of my customers, even when in an uncomfortable circumstance. My product knowledge spans more than 50 years, even though I'm not quite 50 yet. I have a great affection for all things internally combustible. Some might see it as an obsession. I love my vocation, and know it's where I belong. As technology evolves, nuts and bolts don't change, but systems, methods, and all of the things that control them do.

Parts ManagerSumter Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Oct 2013 - PresentSumter, South Carolina AreaA large buy/sell return needed completion, and a lot of tweaking of inventory is involved. I'm certain with the looming upheaval of a total renovation, things will continue to improve at a greater rate, despite the growing pains. Busy days! More to come at a later date. -
Parts ManagerCarolina Chrysler Jeep Dodge Apr 2012 - Oct 2013While employed at Carolina CJDR, I met many wonderful customers, co-workers, and expanded my network of vendors. I completed a buy/sell return, did a whole inventory re-set, and made a few changes to processes that saved a lot of money. I had a great group of people to work with, and for. The customer base was excellent, and I miss a lot of people. I'll never forget the day that I picked up a transfer case, and handed it to a technician. There were a lot of double-takes, but it made it clear that I was there to get things done.

Parts ManagerSumter Utilities 2003 - 2005When I worked for this company, I used my knowledge of military vehicles, my abilities to find parts that couldn't be found, and the technical knowledge I learned as a mechanic. I was second in charge of a group of eight really good people who could fix or repair most anything. Some of the vehicles and equipment were standard; some were a conglomeration of a frame/powertrain combination that should have been alien to each other, and some were custom built for a particular job that needed done. We made it all work, however it needed to work. There was much hurricane, ice storm, and other natural disaster type of utility work that needed to be fast and accurate. Anticipating needs was key, and I always got the men what they needed to get people's power back on, or stay on. On occasion, when a mechanic had a problem he couldn't figure out, we'd talk it over, and I'd either figure it out, or ask good enough questions to lead him to the solution. There were regular maintenance aspects, and some very major repair work, with everything that falls in between. Prior hydraulic, pneumatic, pneudraulic, and electro-hydraulic knowledge came in handy.

Heavy Equipment MechanicUnited States Air Force Dec 1986 - May 1994GlobalAs a "Special Purpose Vehicle and Equipment Journeyman," I performed maintenance and many repairs on various specialized vehicles and equipment. To list a few: forklifts, dump trucks, bulldozers, street sweepers, road graders, farm tractors, aircraft loading equipment, baggage handling equipment, lavatory service trucks (yuk!), aircraft towing equipment, snow removal equipment, etc. You name it, I can fix it. One of the things I'm really proud of is rewiring a Cochran loader, (google it!) in less than a week. They gave me two to do it. I provide results, no matter what.It never mattered to me, but it did to others, that I was the first female to ever have that job at any of the bases at which I was stationed. I never saw myself as a pioneer or a feminist, but maybe I was. I just knew I was smarter than a pile of metal and fasteners.
