As the Director of Workforce Development for New Albany and Union County School Districts in New Albany, MS, I lead the IMPACTO internship program for 11th grade students at 5 high schools, have created a K-12 Workforce Development plan for both school districts, am the point person for a team of 9 career coaches and work-based learning coordinators across 6 schools, and I serve as the liaison between business/industry partners, students, school districts, planning and development districts, and community programs. I have previously worked as a career coach, a college admissions counselor, and a university athletic eligibility officer. I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mississippi State University. I am a small business owner and a church youth director. I have one daughter, Rosie, and we reside in Ripley, MS.

I am responsible for overseeing the Track and Field & Cross Country teams providing direct academic support, advisement, and counseling. I provide up-to-date data on students' academic standing and eligibility status to the coaching staff, supervise Study Hall for all student-athletes, function as an academic mentor for at-risk student-athletes, and participate in the recruitment of potential student-athletes by giving presentations on official visits for Track & Field, Cross Country, Football, and Soccer. I am also the liaison for my students with faculty, staff and campus offices.Life Skills (Student-Athlete Affairs)- I provide academic, personal, and professional support to the holistic student-athlete based on individual needs. I aid in the execution of Life Skills programming that includes facilitation of New Student-Athlete Orientation, and I help supervise the Student-Athlete Mentor program and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Additionally, I assist with overseeing all community outreach activities and events involving student-athletes.Compliance- I am responsible for all facets of academic support, eligibility reporting, and recruitment of assigned sports. I process initial and transfer student-athlete NCAA eligibility certification using appropriate bylaws, and process high school core course evaluations for potential student-athletes on official visits.
