10-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit• Function as a charge nurse on assigned shift.• Provide nursing care to assigned patients in the Pediatric ICU.• Communicate and coordinate care between hospital staff, physician, patient, and family members.• Administers medication in a safe, knowledgeable, and accurate manner. • Follow laws, regulations, and hospital policies.• Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care assigned patients.• Orient new hires to the Pediatric ICU.• Mentor new hires through their first year of nursing in the Pediatric ICU.• Participate in committees and stays current in all mandatory education and in-services.

In this role I am a clinical educator for 410 Medical, where I go to different hospitals around the US and educate on a blood and fluid rapid infuser called LifeFlow.

Pediatric Float Pool As a pediatric float pool nurse, I floated between the Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, Transitional and Special Care Nurseries, Pediatric Progressive Care Unit, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit, Pediatric General Medicine unit based off unit needs.
