Rotherham District General Hospital And Rotherham Social Services

I began as an OTA in Rotherham hospital carrying out rehabilitation programs and accompanying the OT on home visits from the hospital with patients. I rotated around several wards, but spent the majority of my time on the Elderly Day hospital, which held a Parkinson Clinic weekly.Whilst at the hospital I began my OT Part Time degree and felt I needed more experience and autonomy than the role allowed, so applied for a TI 2 role in the community.I worked full time as a TI within Social Services whilst continuing with the part time university degree. My role allowed me to work autonomously in the community carrying out assessments of the service users needs within their own homes and providing basic equipment and adaptations . I worked within the Older adults team in this role.
