Responsibilities:• Following the mission and philosophy of the school and supporting the Executive Director in implementing day to day educational operations.• Responding to a variety of diverse situations in a flexible, adaptive and professional manner.• Ensuring a smooth school day with regard to staff communication, mentoring and meetings.• Working with teachers to develop curriculum using the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards as a guideline. The curriculum includes hands-on, experiential activities using a variety of modalities which are adapted for our students who have neurobehavioral disorders.• Creating all teacher and student schedules.• Reading and interpreting psychological evaluations to determine the most appropriate accommodations and modifications for individual students.• Facilitating parent conferences with teachers, administrators and parents three times per school year.• Running weekly staff meetings with the purpose of keeping staff informed of all upcoming events, discussing daily policy and procedures, and providing a forum for staff to discuss individual student issues.• Creating and organizing school documents for the accreditation process.• Providing student support as needed.• Overseeing daily operations of the Orion educational team in maintaining an organized and clean school space.• Ensuring a smooth school day with regard to transitions, enrichment activities, snack, and group activities in the multi-purpose room and/or playground.• Researching and scheduling all Curriculum Extensions for Fridays.
