In my work in Galena I work with Pre k - 12 teachers in all core content areas to increase student learning. Though I am responsible for evaluations throughout the year, my primary responsibility is coaching teachers in areas determined to increase student achievement. We work in small groups and one on one depending on the needs of the students and the goals of the teachers. I'm also responsible for working with teachers to implement the new state standards beginning with the development of aligned curriculum maps and continuing on to assessment development and finally, differentiated activities that will benefit all students. I work with the counselors and teachers to identify students in need of intervention and manage the case plan for those students with my team. Additionally, I am responsible for all professional development. I plan and implement in-services, meet with teachers and communicate with the community and school board about the work we are doing here for kids. Finally, it is my job to collect, interpret and manage the data we receive from state testing and share that with staff, parents, school board and community.

Daily practices, planning, organizing trips, communicating with other coaches, collaborating with assistants and the boy's coach.

I taught 7 core classes of social studies 9-12. I designed curriculum maps, wrote assessments and developed differentiated lessons to engage all students.

Worked summers with PEAK in Florida, Colorado, North Carolina and Alaska presenting and coaching in the areas of curriculum and instruction. Collaborated with other presenters and consultants in contributing to Performance Excellence for All Kids, a text published by Peal Learning Systems, Inc. out of Conifer, CO. My work was instrumental in the publishing of a companion text specifically for social studies content.

I taught students 6-12 social studies and language arts.
