Beth Castner is a Response to Intervention Behavior Intervention Coach at Clarksville Montgomery County School System at Clarksville Montgomery County School System. Colleagues describe her as "Beth Castner and I worked together for nearly two years at Barkers Mill Elementary School in Clarksville Montgomery County. She served as district level behavior consultant, while I worked in the capacity of Assistant Principal. We worked closely together as a team. Beth has an innate ability to form meaningful relationships with students and parents. She focuses on individual student needs, and she continually makes decisions based on students. In addition, in Beth's role as a behavior consultant she was the chair of the school wide positive behavior team. In this role she led meetings and conducted professional development sessions with teachers on how to write positive behavior plans, de-escalate students, and how to work with students who have experienced trauma. Beth was part of the leadership team that created a school wide protocol for referring students to the school wide positive behavior team or support team using a multi-tiered system to support students. Beth implemented positive behavior plan data chats, as well as a check-in and check-out system that benefited over fifty students at Barkers Mill and positively impacted the school's culture. Beth is currently the Extended Behavior Support Coordinator at Barkers Mill, and she is pursuing her doctoral degree at Austin Peay State University.
