Collaborate with the leadership team of Dayton Children’s Hospital to open a new surgical facility dedicated to the health and safety of families in our community. Develop and implement programs and initiatives which enhance clinical performance, support financial goals and develop new staff. Create programs designed to increase patient satisfaction as well as staff engagement. Creating innovative distraction techniques to decrease the amount of medications given to our pediatric population. Hiring and managing 45 FTE’s. Meeting the education and training requirements of all staff members. Creating programs such as “fast track” orthopedic treatment plans allowing patients to combine clinic appointment with surgery needs.

Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement programs and initiatives which enhance clinical performance, support financial goals,and aid in the development of staff. Management of the administrative and operational functions of the medical surgical department for day to day operations reaching near and long term objectives. Responsible for planning highly detailed medical support to reach the operational missions. Creating and implementing programs designed to 1) increase patient satisfaction 2) increase communication between anesthesia, surgeons, and nursing staff to improve patient safety. Introduce cross-training initiatives designed to respond quickly to the constant shift in patient and staff demands of a Level II trauma center. Interviewing and hiring new staff members, while preforming performance appraisals, coordinating disciplinary action and designing performance improvement plans for existing staff members. Reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HIPPA and JACHO standards, and ensure our policies reflect delivery of the best quality patient care, and staffing needs. Work directly with managers of other units to ensure proper patient flow, in a timely and efficient manner.

Manager of PACU and Pre-operative department at Mercy Surgery Center (Springfield Outpatient Surgery Center) for transitional period of new surgical hospital opening. Including RN staffing, Pre-admission Testing, and scheduling department. Maintaining and hiring new staff during radical turn over. Implementing policies to improve staff retention. Procedures include but are not limited to Total Joint replacements, Colonoscopies, EGD's, GYN procedures, Tonsils Cystoscopies, Lap cholies, Cataract, and Plastics. BLS, ACLS and PALS Certified.
