I am incredibly passionate about working with others to fight for societal change to ensure that everyday activities become accessible and inclusive for every individual. I am a Historic Scotland member and keen walker. I am a lover of reading, yoga, learning new things, the great outdoors, and searching for magic in the little moments. I am currently writing a collection of children's adventure stories exploring disability and inclusion, set in Scotland. I have a First Class 'BA (Hons) with Qualified Teacher Status, Primary Education (5-11) with Inclusion/ Special Educational Needs' degree from The University of Cumbria and was awarded a scholarship to complete my master's degree in 'Inclusive Education' from The University of Edinburgh.Over the past 10 years I have volunteered in 9 schools across the UK, completed my teaching placements in 5 schools and worked in 1 school. This has been a mix of primary, secondary, residential, mainstream, and special schools. I have also volunteered at Charter House, an activity centre and sensory room, for adults (aged 16 – 70) with learning difficulties and disabilities, and Over The Wall, a charity for children with life-limiting illnesses. During my first year at The University of Cumbria I volunteered for the Eco Warriors Schools programme; in my second to fourth year I co-ran it. I also have experience working as a Private Tutor to a child with dyspraxia and working as a Private Childcare Worker. My experiences in education over a decade reflect that I have the skills, understanding, and ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, engaging with children, young people, adults, and wider professionals. As a compassionate person and professional communicator I have the ability to engage positively and develop trusting relationships with others to create safe and welcoming environments and allow for the best outcomes possible. I am a driven and hardworking individual who is extremely passionate about empowering others, fighting injustice, and bringing about long term change. I am both imaginative and creative in my approach to life; always seeking out opportunities to learn new things and enhance my writing experiences.

Transcriptionist And Script WriterBeard Askew Productions Mar 2021 - Jun 2021Edinburgh City, Scotland, United KingdomBeard Askew are a film production company, creating beautiful, impactful and thought-provoking content through film and storytelling to bring brands and campaigns to life. My role involves transcribing video footage of scientific discussion for new films about healthy environments, centralised on climate change. This involved working with Excel and Google Docs, reviewing drafts of documents, selecting quotes I believed to work well in script, dating facts and figures, and organising discussion into relevant questions and answers. I then used this question and answer format to write multiple scripts ready to be made into film. -
