I thrive as part of a team and in collaboration with colleagues on varied projects, campaigns and events, but value autonomy for myself and those I lead as well. My mantra as a leader is not to supervise, but rather inspire great work from my team. Steve Jobs said it well, "it doesn't make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do."Since stepping into my leadership role, our Marketing department has helped our company achieve consecutive record breaking years in sales volume, as well as expand our footprint - all while reducing our annual department budget. I have sole oversight of creative direction, brand strategy, public relations, event planning, internal communications and department structure and staffing. I also contribute to the company's systems and technology, training and development, facility design, recruiting and philanthropy efforts.While my workload is varied, I find my greatest passions lie in writing, content creation and event planning and coordination.
