I am currently the secretary for Citizens House and have assisted the board both with regular administration of the charity but also with the successful application of significant lottery funding to secure the construction of our new purpose-built venue in central Consett. We offer a wide range of events and groups and room hire options to support opportunities in the wider community and I regularly volunteer at these events in addition to my secretarial role. We also work very closely with another charity, Learning for Life, who support adults with physical and mental disabilities to access skills to develop future employment prospects. In my role alongside providing full administrative support to the trustees and Chairman, I have implemented new room booking systems, pricing structures, worked with trustees to develop policy documentation, been responsible for dealing with insurance coverage and any claims, and facilitate meetings between users and the board of trustees.
