I've been in the financial services industry virtually most of my working life. Starting as PA to the Senior Partner of Ernst & Young (previously Whinney Murray) I then moved into the Insolvency Department in the 1980's where I worked for several years prior to leaving to have a family.I returned to work for my husband in his accountancy practice (this was only supposed to be for a few days but I stayed 5 years!) I then joined the Invoice Finance industry in 1993 (Chancery Factors) and over the following 10 years the company went through several bank mergers, latterly when I worked for Abbey National Cashflow Finance in Leeds prior to our acquisition by Bibby Financial Service in the spring of 2003.
