My career objectives are to obtain a faculty position at a college or university in order to: a) teach courses in best practices in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC); language development and disorders; autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities; b) build a productive line of research that focuses on empowering families of young children with complex communication needs; and c) develop training programs to help parents, caregivers, and early childhood educators implement augmentative and alternative communication strategies within children’s natural environments to maximize their communication, language, and learning.
