Welcome to my LinkedIn profile page. If you are this far along on my page, then you are wanting to know more about me and that is great! I know everyone likes to use this section as their elevator pitch, sales pitch, etcetera but I would like to just introduce myself. I am the owner of a remarkably busy cat sitting company in the Cleveland, Ohio westside market. Pet Sitting? Really you might be chuckling at this point, but what many people do not realize there is a whole industry nitch growing by leaps, bounds, and meows! In fact, the pet is market is one of the fastest growing right now and since I have been doing pet sitting it is one of the most stable! The biggest drawback is the average consumer still relates to pet sitters as the kid next door. Did you know even during the pandemic shutdowns we were considered 'essential.' Yes, pet sitters and dog walkers were considered essential services. While the rest of the world was shutting down many dog walkers and pet sitters were out here working to care for pets. Others like myself, well we worked online like you, providing animal training, new pet guidance, and behavior modification consults. I took the time to write my first book Understanding Cat Behavior for Rockbridge Press/Callisto Media. I gave an international talk about Cat Training for the Dublin Cat Faire that was broadcast in Ireland, the USA, and China! This year for my cat sitting business has been amazing. As people received their vaccines and became more comfortable, they finally started traveling again. But what many new clients do not realize is the pet care industry had an unexpected increase due to the pandemic. Pet adoptions skyrocketed during the pandemic! So, with more households adopting pets our industry is experiencing an increase in demand. And many pet sitters or pet sitting companies are finding their businesses capped out. I have heard from colleagues that they are now booked out until after the New Year already. The pet industry has increased demand and like all small businesses we are struggling to hire team members. In our case, I am still looking for 2 team members with one that has the potential to become a territory manager. Those of you who have read this far are surprised to hear a "pet sitter" talking like a genuine business, but we are real businesses with genuine business models. Where is Finicky Cat Sitting & Behavior, LLC going in the next year (2022)? We are looking to hold the line for our current client base and expand our online opportunities.
