Early childhood specialist with two masters degrees in education including regular and special education. I have worked with children from 2 years to 8 years of age in both regular and special education settings. I perform comprehensive educational evaluations for young children assessing each individual child's learning profile including literacy, math, and attention/self-regulation. Utilizing a "whole child" approach, I integrate social, emotional, physical and cognitive domains to gain a fuller understanding of each child's strengths and weaknesses. Through this approach, I generate home and school recommendations aimed at developing a comprehensive and consistent program to support evidenced-based developmentally appropriate learning and well being. Through close collaboration with my peers at Bank Street I helped to create a developmentally appropriate and comprehensive early childhood literacy program which incorporates a number of approaches including phonological awareness, phonics and handwriting. I also supervise and integrate literacy interns from the college along with teaching teams and our psychologist to create a team approach to support individual learning. Organized and participated in cross college collaboration studies. One such study focused on teacher role in fostering dramatic play skills in struggling pre-school children.
