My lab uses histology and spatial techniques to explore immunology, especially pertaining to HIV/SIV and MTb infections. I work with non-human primate tissue in the form of FFPE, blood, cell isolates, and tissues (especially GI and brain). I perform a variety of tasks including microtomy, staining assays (ISH/IHC), designing staining panels, gross tissue processing, scanning, and analysis.

MMBIO 463 (Immunology) and MMBIO 121 (General Biology)

I grew bacterial cultures (E. coli and S. aureus) both in suspension and on plates. I worked to create a knockout version of S. aureus, employing skills such as PCR and plasmid isolation. I also worked to identify Eimeria species in wild turkey by performing PCR and sequence alignment.
