Telehealth Mental Health Services for Residents of Tennessee

Tutor high school students in a variety of subjects including; chemistry, math & literature.

Provided on-site supervision and training for 5 Master's level school counseling students.Provided individual supervision to 4 school counseling students at the practicum and internship levels.Co-managed the Student Support Centers, consulting and collaborating with the Support Center staff and school staff, while providing leadership role modeling to counselor trainees.Met weekly with supervisor cohort and faculty members to discuss progress of interns and to reflect on areas for my personal growth and professional growth in relation to the supervision

Assisted with conceptualization of course format and creation of the course syllabus and assignments for this required course for School Counseling Master's level students (8 students were enrolled in the course). Created and delivered lectures, including the following topics: "Resiliency", "Barriers to Learning", "Prevention & Intervention Strategies", "Elementary School Counseling Techniques", "Creative & Play Therapy", "Classroom Management" & "Making the Most of Your Supervision Experience". Led group supervision session (4 students), helping students at multiple school settings reflect on their internship experiences and grow personally and professionally through the use of case studies, taped counseling sessions shared with the group, and receiving peer and supervisor feedback regarding their skills.

Assisted with conceptualization of course format and creation of the course syllabus and assignments for this required course for School Counseling & Clinical Counseling Masters level students (16 students were enrolled in the course). Created and delivered lectures, which educated students on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Counseling, and Gestalt theories applied to group counseling settings.Led "Survival in Graduate Student" group for 5 sessions and supervised the group experience when students took turns leading the group.Read and provided feedback on required weekly journal reflections regarding the group experience for the 7 group members participating in the group I was supervising.

Met individually with students and provided counseling regarding academic and personal/social concerns in rural, suburban, and urban school environments.Conducted group counseling sessions on topics such as divorce, grief, and social skills.Taught classroom guidance lessons on a variety of academic, personal/social, and career topics.Collaborated with school leadership on strategies to better support students and advocated for students academic and social needs both in the classroom and outside of the classroom. Also served with school personnel on the Campus Family Support Committee and Partners in Education Committee.Collaborated and consulted with outside agencies to provide additional services to students and parents outside of the school environment.Met with parents to discuss concerns regarding the academic and personal needs of their children and offered parenting strategies for these parents to try at home.

Traveled to 25 elementary schools in Knox County and educated students on topics such as disability awareness and sensitivity, the danger of talking to strangers, fire safety, divorce, and grief through educational puppet shows.Initiated and encouraged dialogue with students regarding these issues by providing a venue for students to ask questions and relate to the stories of the kids in the puppet shows. Also identified students who needed further counseling and referred them to the school counselor.

Tutored a wide variety of ages and subject matter, including elementary, middle and high school students in reading, math, algebra, and geometry.

Gained a better understanding of the school environment, as well as a heightened awareness of the complexity of the classroom experience and classroom management by substituting in over 20 elementary school classrooms.

Responsible for aspects of program recruitment, support, and evaluation for the ROX & P.I.E. programs.Provide assistance on locating grants and writing grants.Provide administrative assistance and research assistance on various projects.Submit OSU IRB applications for human subjects approval of research for four research projects affiliated with the ICO.; Advised a diverse group of students including traditional, non-traditional, and transfer students regarding the progression standards for obtaining a business degree. Assisted in the planning of students' academic schedules and counseled students concerning internships, study abroad programs, and the selection of a major.Discussed strategies for academic achievement and personal development through discussion of topics such as study habits, adjustment to college, balance, and motivation during advising sessions.Conducted orientation presentations to incoming freshmen to educate them about academic policies, progression standards, and how to be successful in the College of Business.

Assisted with student advisement, program planning, resume critiques, and collaboration with other student services offices on campus to plan workshops and events.Responsible for conducting research in two areas: 1) Teaching students to reflect on their work values and ethics and how to identify companies for which to work that parallel their value systems; 2) Collaborated with Disability Services personnel to create a workshop that addressed the career planning process for students who have learning disabilities.

Served students in this program by teaching course content through a one-on-one tutoring relationship and advocated for students by encouraging them to meet with professors, form peer study groups, and seek additional help from other organizations on campus.Tailored tutoring techniques in math, statistics, economics, and finance to accommodate the needs of non-traditional, first-generation students, and students with learning disabilities. Addressed the personal/social and career development needs of students by discussing goal setting, time management, and study skills strategies with students.

Served student athletes by teaching course content (economics, finance, logistics, statistics, accounting) through a one-on-one tutoring relationship and advocated for students by encouraging them to meet with professors, form peer study groups, and seek additional help from other organizations on campus.Empowered students to create academic success strategies for long-term success in college and helped them with this process of goal-setting.
