I am currently working as Therapeutic Specialist within the MacKillop Family Services Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) Program. This role is to provides clinical support and leadership to children and young people in out-of-home-care, residential carers and case managers, families of young people and to external care team members. My role within African Family Services (AFS) is with the client services team. This team provides case management and support to African-Australian individuals, families and communities experiencing family violence and mental health conditions. Culturally responsive and intersectional frameworks are paramount to the work AFS does which offers me the opportunity to embed these approaches into my own social work practice. Alongside this, I am currently the project lead for a project working collaboratively with the Multicultural Centre for Women's Health in providing opportunities for African-Australian women to assess bi-lingual health and well-being education.

As a social work placement student, my role is within the 'Outreach and Transition' program. This program aims to support school refusing students facing mental illness and trauma including family violence to re-engage with school, other students and teachers. Additionally, my role includes providing counselling support to walk-in students experiencing (though not limited to) mental illness, trauma, over-stimulation and conflict at school and at home. I aim to work and learn from a strengths based and trauma informed practice with particular focus on developing skills in LGBTQI+ inclusion and cultural safety.

Within the gift registry my role included, but was not limited to creation and ongoing management of gift registries, organisation of large customer orders, handling returns and faulty items and collaboration and liaison with the dispatch team and other departments. As a customer service representative at the front counter my role included, but was not limited to, point of sale (cash handling, EFTPOS, Zip Pay and Gift cards), product advice and assistance, gift wrapping, organising product orders and transfers, training new staff and handling of returns and faulty items.
