I have recently relocated to Austin, TX where I am currently starting up my In-Home Physical Therapy practice in the North Austin area. I have just completed my Certification in Applied Functional Science (AFS) and look forward to combining these new skills and ideas with my manual therapy skills. At In-Home Physical Therapy , I specialize in individualized care of the aging adult in the comfort of ones own home. The patient population I treat may have painful chronic conditions or diseases contributing to long and short term disabilities. In-Home Physical Therapy enables this population to be treated at home without the stress of travel to and from an out patient clinic. This can also eliminate the fear of germ transmission to an already weakened immune system. Additionally, many people do not like to exercise in front of others and many personal trainers do not deal with the "injured" client well. The primary goal for the patient is to achieve greater independence and physical well being.I do not accept direct pay from insurance companies but several companies will reimburse for services. I am the prefect solution when insurance no longer pays yet rehabilitation is not complete.Specialties: Therapeutic Exercise, AFS and massage, Treatment of Lumbo-sacral/Sacroiliac dysfunction, Post joint replacement, Personal Training for patients with chronic pain or disease (diabetes, dementia, Parkinson's, MS) and the aging adult, Balance and gait Training, Fall risk assessment and intervention strategies. AFS brings together physical, behavioral and biological sciences that form the foundations of principals, strategies and techniques to provide functional assessment, training, rehabilitation, and injury prevention that is practical for everyone regardless of age or physical ability. I became a believer in AFS when I rehabilitated my own ACL reconstruction. Using AFS principals, I was back on the tennis court and playing competitively 10 months after surgery.
