My research focuses on building non-destructive instruments to analyze bio signatures in samples returned from space. I have designed and built the ESCAPE system at York; a combined Raman and fluorescence instrument integrated with an environmental chamber to maintain the pristineness of sensitive samples by analyzing the mineral and organic constituents while under specific temperature, pressure and atmospheric conditions.

Supervisors: Dr. Michael Daly (York University), Dr. Kim Tait (Royal Ontario Museum)- Provided fundamental laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy research oncarbonaceous chondrites to prepare for the analysis of remote data collected by the OSIRISRExmission at the asteroid Bennu, to aid in sample curation upon return, and to guide theinstrument selection for future asteroid sample-return missions.- Created high-resolution spectral maps of millimetre sized features within carbonaceous chondrites such as chondrules and CAIs using a 266nm laser-induced fluorescence instrument, 532nm Raman Spectrometer, and SEM/EDS analyses - Classified two carbonaceous chondrite meteorite specimens from the Royal Ontario Museum, submitted to the Meteoritical Bulletin (NWA 11554, and pending).
