Canadian Arctic Research Expedition (CAN-ARX) will be the first student-led arctic expedition in Canada. This competition will provide access to the arctic for Canadian students to conduct Earth and Space science, atmospheric or engineering research, as well as form connections with northern communities.

Title: Laser-Induced Fluorescence Spectroscopy as a Non-Destructive Technique for Mineral and Organic Detection in Carbonaceous Chondrites. Supervisors: Dr. Michael Daly (York University), Dr. Kim Tait (Royal Ontario Museum)- Provided fundamental laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy research oncarbonaceous chondrites to prepare for the analysis of remote data collected by the OSIRISRExmission at the asteroid Bennu, to aid in sample curation upon return, and to guide theinstrument selection for future asteroid sample-return missions.- Created high-resolution spectral maps of millimetre sized features within carbonaceous chondrites such as chondrules and CAIs using a 266nm laser-induced fluorescence instrument, 532nm Raman Spectrometer, and SEM/EDS analyses - Classified two carbonaceous chondrite meteorite specimens from the Royal Ontario Museum, submitted to the Meteoritical Bulletin (NWA 11554, and pending).
