Held various roles of progressive responsibility at three local non-profit organizations over a decade-long period, making a regional impact in the Suffolk County, Long Island community. Experiences included:-Annual fundraising gala held at Oheka Castle which netted $200,000 for an environmental advocacy organization;-Managed events of all sizes from 20-5,000 attendees at historic site & museum listed on the National Register of Historic Places;-Wrote, produced and designed annual appeal campaigns;-Managed donor databases and ran queries and reports;-Served as spokesperson for the organization during media requests and interviews, including on-camera on News 12-LI, on WEHM radio, and with the Doug Geed East End Show;-Researched, proposed and managed grant-funded programs through private foundations and through public programs such as the New York Council for the Humanities;-Pitched and earned media coverage in Newsday, The Suffolk Times/News Review and on local cable stations;-Managed social media accounts including Facebook and Instagram;-Scripted and produced local cable access show on environmental news topics;-Wrote copy including: fundraising appeals, newsletters, press releases, media advisories, annual report and research papers, social media posts, media pitches, emails for subscriber e-blasts and legislative action alerts, ad copy, to name a few;-Researched and stayed current on planning, zoning, and preservation issues encompassing the entire county;-Attended and represented the organization at various government meetings including town, county and state level, including annual travel to Albany and monthly attendance at federal stakeholder meetings for local environmental groups;-Fostered meaningful relationships with media, volunteers, donors, colleagues, board of directors and diverse community stakeholders.
