• Administers pulmonary function testing, including spirometry, flow volume loops with and without bronchodilator, excercise testing, BCT, HAST studies, MIP/MEP., ABG's and research patients.• Administers six minute walk test, Oximetry pulse studies, 02 therapy, and Nebulizer treatment. • Reviews pulmonary function studies with patients. • Educates patients regarding pulmonary medications, use of oxygen and airway clearance devices. • Attends to emergency codes and assists in stabilizing patients for transport to hospital. • Testing for research patients in clinical trials. Set up and educate patients on the inCourage® Airway Clearance Therapy Device (HFCC/HFCWO) a medical device that assists children and adults with mobilizing secretions that may contribute to, or complicate, their respiratory conditions, such as but not limited to Bronchiectasis, Cystic Fibrosis and COPD.

Responsible for collecting, analyzing and integrating patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (Physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological statusp regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history), and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols. Complete and verify documentation, explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient. Testing preparation procedures, prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary. Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards. Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary. Responsible for determining acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for individual applicants in accordance with Corporate Underwriting Guidelines and Authority Limits.
