    Under my direction as Department Chair/Director (2000-2009), Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) increased enrollment from 150 students to a (creative, educational and highly profitable) powerhouse guitar program of over 425 students. During this tenure, dozens of high quality new courses, several industry partnerships and guitar scholarships were created and the guitar faculty ranks increased by over 100% . I'm proud to have developed and produced hundreds of eclectic weekly world-class visiting artist events (concerts, clinics and seminars ranging from Steve Vai to Tommy Emmanuel to John5 to Larry Carlton) at the college.Responsibilities included oversight of all program specific issues including: the supervision and direction of a teaching staff of 50 guitar Instructors, management of multi-million dollar departmental budget, curriculum development, recruiting, entrance and completion standards, student issues, publicity and promotion, world class guest artist series, Instructor payroll, scheduling of all classes, new hires and terminations, Instructor evaluation and training, overall direction, philosophy and effectiveness of the program; as well as maintaining a personal teaching schedule.

    • The Musicians Foundation supports scholarships for talented and/or financially-challenged Musicians Institute students, as well as educational opportunities for contemporary music students at the college level thru out the Los Angeles area.The Foundation was established in 2004 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We have awarded over $695,000 in scholarships since 2004. http://www.themusiciansfoundation.org || https://musiciansfoundation.wordpress.com • I have created and managed dozens of new scholarship opportunities, and singlehandedly raised $1.5 million in scholarship and endowment funds via corporate, individual, alumni donors. We have a world class board of directors, strong social media and a growing donor database. I've produced several successful fundraising events, and grown multiple philanthropic and volunteer opportunities within the music industry and the community.• Since 2009, I've produced and co-sponsored (with MI) a very unique ongoing series of FREE music, production, media, songwriting and music industry classes at the Grammy Museum for several thousand LAUSD high school and middle school students. The specially designed classes are taught by top notch music professionals and MI faculty. We're immensely proud of our partnership with The Grammy Museum, as we share a similar mission.
