I worked for The Disney Store Marketing team and took on the role of Marketing Assistant. For half of my placement I was apart of the Bricks and Mortar team, and the other half I was apart of the digital marketing team. The original length of my placement was 12 months, however, I was asked to extend my contract for a further four months.During my placement I was fortunate to be given more responsibility than my initial job requirements.New product introduction – managed new product launches throughout my placement year such as Tsum Tsum digital product launch as well as Star Wars, The Force Awakens Midnight Madness event that was conducted regional and throughout Europe.Managed filming of seasonal TV adverts - Managed a film shoots for various franchises such as Star Wars, Frozen, Christmas and Disney Princess.Worked with all other lines of business: Worked closely with other lines of business to align with the rest of The Walt Disney Company campaigns, and to gain as much visibility for The Disney Store.Strategy and planning: Supported franchise strategy planning, participated in strategy workshops and plan development. Linked all marketing campaign objectives back to annual business plan for The Disney Store EMEA.Internal communications: Managed a fortnightly comms piece to the rest of The Disney Store and store cast members (employees) who work in the actual stores to inform them of any marketing updates that need to be communicated to guests (consumers).Event management: Managed and organised numerous events, such as The VIP Disney Store Christmas party in partnership with GOSH (Great Ormand Street hospital), product launches, internal events inviting key personnel in the business.Digital marketing: My responsibilities included working with affiliates, setting up promotions, managing The Disney Store Facebook page in terms of creative and brand management and CRM in relation to emails.
