As a Park Naturalist, my primary responsibility will be to provide professional natural and cultural history programs. Additionally, I coordinate volunteers (group and individual), conduct environmental research projects, plan annual events, partner with local organizations, and other duties as assigned. From September 2015 until August 2016, I served as Acting Facility Director.

My main job is to provide professional natural and cultural history programs. However, I also coordinate the teen volunteer program, oversee the care of our collection of live animals (including birds of prey), conduct wildlife research projects, serve on interdepartmental committees, plan annual events, supervise seasonal intermittent employees, perform administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned.

While at Gettysburg Animal Hospital, I performed many duties such as secretarial/office tasks (taking phone calls, check in/out patients, filing, etc), exam room tasks (weighing and restraining animals, filling prescriptions, lab tests, administering medications, vaccines, and fluids, etc), maintenance tasks (cleaning, rotating stock, etc), assisting with surgeries and other procedures, etc.

For five months, I led group education programs for elementary aged children as well as behind the scenes tours for adults. I also performed office duties such as computer work, coordinating programs, and other duties as assigned.

I took care of the patients both indoors and outdoors for three months in the summer of 2003. Some of my duties were to clean enclosures, provide husbandry, feed patients (some with syringes), assist with veterinary procedures, administer medications, rotate stock of supplies, interact with the public, answer phones, wash various supplies, etc.
