Areas of expertise include: Urban education reform; New small school development; Partnership development between business/industry and urban school districts; and Post-secondary readiness strategies for first-generation college students.Accomplishments include: - Strategic planning with district partners to develop and scale real world learning initiatives.- Partnership development with six urban school districts, 3 charter schools, 32 post-secondary institutions, and 209 local businesses to better prepare urban students for post-secondary and career success.

Trained deans, school aides, and safety agents on use of positive reinforcement to decrease school violence.

Senior Community Outreach Organizer, 2002. Led and supervised a team of community organizers who were deployed to gain the buy-in of residents and stakeholders as the district expanded to meet the needs of thousands of students by building 85 new schools in 5 years. Developed strategic plans for community outreach efforts. Created operating policies for Community Outreach department and other departments within School Building & Planning. Coordinated and led town hall meetings in English and Spanish to communicate vision of new school projects to the community and seek their input.
