A passion for innovation in the planetarium and immersive spaces industry drove me in founding Astra to offer technical, scientific, and creative consulting services to theaters, producers, and visitor attractions globally. I have a passion for science and education, and for finding creative and fresh approaches to science visualization and engagement as well as business management and development. These interests have informed my work in science communication and public outreach for over ten years, which has included story and script development, show production, formal and informal education, creative and technical planetarium design, and business development. Science Content Development - contributing to the development of Sky-Skan's propriety DigitalSky Dark Matter software platform for data visualization and 3D simulation of the universe as we know it. At Fiske Planetarium, I was responsible for many aspects of public programming ranging from music entertainment, weekly topical science lectures, presenting public live planetarium shows, and coordinating the Planetarium's outreach activities for ages three to adult. These roles included:Outreach Coordinator - Scheduling and execution of the Planetarium's many mobile exhibits including a portable planetarium, telescopes, and educational activities to schools, libraries, and special events. Colorado Skies Lecture Series Coordinator - Research and design of lectures, lecture presentation, and scheduling of topics and presenters.Music programs manager - scheduling of shows and presenters, purchasing, employee development, and product quality. Public show presenter - Includes live narration and live control of the planetarium software to create public educational shows on varying topics in astronomy, cosmology, and earth sciences.Programs and Presenter Development - Oversaw the development of new shows and the training of new presenters.
