For a year I have worked within the sales, marketing and prospection of Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, Sample Preparation and Spectroscopy products, managing the accounts in North Wales, Scotland, and Northern England. I started the placement with the view to broadly help my other colleagues manage their accounts all over the UK, but with the leave of a colleague, I quickly moved in to cover and manage the northern territories.This was done through the thorough use of business plans, effective marketing, tactical communications and team work. Customer relations in such a competitive industry is paramount, as a supportive team network.

I worked in a cancer research laboratory connected to Velindre Cancer Hospital. I learnt many new lab techniques and assisted the researchers with their cutting-edge work. It proved an extremely valuable insight to the life of a researcher, and also taught me the importance of organisation, precision and time management.
